NewDelhi, May16:Xiaomi is all set to launch its next Redmi smartphone in India on Tuesday, at an event in New Delhi scheduled to begin at 11:30am IST. Currently, it has already been removed and will be back now after the official announcement, but the spread of treasured screenshots page on the Internet cannot be stopped.
"We are thrilled to announce Redmi 4 which is an upgrade to Redmi 3S".
Under the hood, Redmi 4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor. The Redmi 3S, which was launched in India in August past year, has in fact become the highest selling phone ever available in India via the online sales model, he added.
Redmi 4 comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colour support and 720 x 1280 pixels with 296 ppi pixel density.
Redmi 4 has a metal unibody design and curved 2.5D glass on the front.
The router also comes with the metering feature that will let users limit the bandwidth for each device and also block other devices deemed suspicious. Redmi 4 can also run the Andoid N's preview right out of the box.
In the camera department, we see a resolution drop to 13MP (from 16MP) for the main camera, while the selfie camera is still a 5MP sensor. Hardware specifications include octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 4,100 mah battery, option of 2/3/4GB RAM and 16/32/64GB storage option.
The Redmi 4 comes at a time when Xiaomi is slowly and steadily ramping up its sales strategy in the country.
Xiaomi recently opened its Mi Home store in Bengaluru, the first in India.
