President Donald Trump will be visiting the Vatican later this month as part of his first foreign trip.
Early Sunday morning, CNN's Jeff Zeleny reported that Callista Gingrich is in the "final stages of confirmation, the ethics people are going through all of this", and that the announcement from the Trump White House could come this week.
Have a terrific weekend. Gingrich would be the 11th USA ambassador to the Vatican if she is picked by President Trump and confirmed by the Senate.
Gingrich even suggested that the White House shouldn't field questions from reporters, but broadcast briefings on YouTube or other social media platforms.
She also served on the House Committee on Agriculture, where she worked as chief clerk until 2007.
"She's under consideration", Gingrich said then.
Callista Gingrich, a former congressional aide who is now an author and president of a multimedia production company, considers herself a devout Catholic. "'Single-payer, I think we should have that debate as a nation, ' Bertolini said in a video tape of his remarks provided to Vox by an attendee at the meeting". After his 1999 divorce, the two married the following year and he became a Catholic in 2009, saying Callista, a lifelong Catholic, was instrumental in making that choice.
