In a separate development, authorities in Kirkersvilled, Ohio, were trying Monday to piece together the events that led to a nursing home shooting that left four people dead, including the suspected gunman. Firefighters said multiple people died in the fire at the home. "I want to know what happened to my family", Tyennis Huggins said.
The Akron fire chief would not say how numerous dead in Monday's fire were adults or children, but news outlets reported it was two adults and five children. He says he learned about the fire from a cousin. "I'm forever going to miss him".
The number of victims and their names weren't immediately released at the scene early Monday morning in Akron, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Cleveland.
Two other people died in a house fire on the same street just over a year ago, in a blaze investigators ruled was intentionally set.
The house sat at the top of a winding street in a neighborhood of mostly two-story clapboard houses. Tyennys Huggins said it did. A fire department spokeswoman said the bodies will be identified by the Summit County coroner's office through dental records.
