This week's Saturday Night Live host was Melissa McCarthy, who did not disappoint on her latest portrayal of President Trump's Press Secretary Sean Spicer. With that, Kate McKinnon wrapped the robe around an emotional McCarthy, who wished the audience a happy Mother's Day before embracing her fellow Five-Timers onstage.
After reporters ask SNL's Sanders where Spicer is, he's shown peering into the window - from behind a bush, of course.
Before McCarthy's Spicer returned to hurl abuse at the press..
"Spicey's back, Sarah's out!" "I'm going to NY".
When asked about why Spicer was there, Bryant-as-Sanders explained that it was just an exercise. When he gets to Trump Tower, he's told that Trump is never there anymore. Inside Putin ("Oops", McCarthy says, swiftly tossing that doll aside), follows "Steve Bannon", or Slimer from Ghostbusters.
After Spicer ripped down a support column in the briefing room and hurled it at the reporter, he took his motorized lectern to the streets of New York City in search of the president. Her spot also was a break from the show's reliance on Baldwin to poke fun at Trump.
Facing questions over Trump's mental state amid a series of tweet storms, McCarthy's Spicer then claimed that "If he's insane, he's insane like a fox with mental problems".
We knew Melissa McCarthy would be bringing back Sean Spicer on last night's new episode of Saturday Night Live.
McCarthy-Spicer promptly had at it as he took questions from reporters about James Comey's firing and whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation.
The internet, which has learned to produce memes at a rapid speed under Trump, quickly got to work creating GIFs of Sanders ducking into a bush as her old tweets went viral and many users blasted her messages as "embarrassing", "awkward" and "not aging really well".
Holt, in a rare portrayal by Weekend Update co-host Michael Che, gleaned a bombshell confession from Trump that James Comey was canned because of his investigation into the President's alleged ties to Russian Federation. Spicer eventually found the president in a residence he owns in New Jersey, and asked him if he's ever had him lie to the press for him. "She doesn't have your special spice", Baldwin's Trump says before demanding that "Spicer" kiss him. By the end of the week, there was open speculation about Spicer being replaced, possibly by Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Trump offers to let him stay for a kiss, like the one in the Godfather, and Spicer reluctantly obliges with a full on make-out scene to close the sketch.
